Sunset on Mt. Kinesava

The light constantly transforms Zion National Park’s towering walls into a vivid, ever-changing tapestry of color throughout the day. As the sun rises, the red and orange sandstone cliffs catch the morning light, glowing with warm, golden hues. Midday sunlight brings out the brighter, more intense reds and whites of the rock, revealing intricate textures and layers. In the late afternoon, the setting sun casts long shadows and bathes the canyon in rich ambers and purples, creating dramatic contrasts. This dynamic interplay of light and stone enhances the natural beauty of Zion and makes each moment in the canyon feel unique and fleeting.

Yellowstone National Park is home to many diverse animals, from the simple beaver to the mighty grizzly bear. But did you know that Yellowstone's hot springs are home to millions of microorganisms called Cyanobacteria? Cyanobacteria are responsible for the beautiful streaks of color in these hot springs, usually brown, green, or orange.
